Located in Nyakihenene Gamasara, Tarime District, Mara Region, WASH Hub No. 2 is integrated into the agricultural landscape and is growing into a fully operational integrated community development center. Started in 2025, WASH Hub No. 2 expands MSG’s footprint into the neighboring district and the more mature agricultural markets in Tarime.
Designed as a sustainable community resource, the WASH Hub strengthens public health, builds local capacity and entrepreneurship, and promotes long-term economic and climate resilience across surrounding villages and beyond.
WASH Hub No. 2 is only 1 km off the main highway that constitutes the border between the Rorya and Tarime Districts.
Features
A solar-powered borehole that serves the WASH Hub and can fill MSG’s water delivery trucks to promote safe water across the district.Currently constructed during the 2nd half of 2026:
A demonstration farm (fields and gardens) and latrines for visitors to learn from in terms of getting ideas and cost estimates that could work for their own homes.A general store where WASH and agricultural supplies can be purchased at fair market prices to encourage proper WASH behavior and improved farming techniques. An operation mechanization center where locals can access services including tractors, sprayers, milling machines, etc.
